Wayfinding signage was required to enhance visitors experience to the ALBANY ENTERTAINMENT CENTRE, a regional Western Australian state-of-the-art performing arts venue. The striking architecture incorporates a complementary mix of both large open spaces and smaller intimate areas for patrons, performers and production crews. Navigating through these spaces was accomplished with an effective design solution of simple icons and typography which are easy to notice and follow. Printed contrasting panels and a series of LED lit signs are visible during the day and at night. The inclusion of external signage to the Centre features wayfinding maps on concrete monoliths and protective glass barrier panels which harmonise with the architecture and surrounding waterfront location.
