Geoff is a casual guy when it comes to management – he loves working at Dessein because the boss is a nice guy and he is the boss. But he’s serious about design. And, while he may have spent his youth powering up hills as an elite cyclist, he has spent the lion’s share of the last 20 years powering up his Mac.

As a youngster Geoff excelled at art and faced with the reality of earning a living, graphic design proved the perfect career path. Geoff thrives on every job being different. He sees design as the process of trying to get the pieces of a puzzle to fit. Designs that call for maximum creative input generate maximum satisfaction. Geoff has a firm grounding in traditional design techniques, but has always embraced new technologies for the possibilities they bring. Digital photography has created a new frontier for his design and the business. Geoff, who is life partner of co director Tracy Kenworthy, counts his greatest achievements as his children and making it to 40 more or less intact. With Tracy he shares a passion for antique art glass. When he’s not tweaking designs or reworking digital photographs (his latest passion), he thrills to the opening violins of the Verve’s Bittersweet Symphony, and escapes with his favourite film, futuristic masterpiece Blade Runner.
